Thank you for visiting! We are excited for the "grand reopening" of our newly remodeled lodge. We've been busy all summer updating the farmhouse lodge and maintaining the trail system. Hot and dusty work, but better than sitting at the computer (!) We are keeping much the same as Hugh Quinn did for the last 40+ years, with some changes where necessary. Groomed ski trails for both classic and skate techniques. 84 inch Yellowstone Ginzu track system groomer that get 2 passes on the entire trail system for a skate lane and set tracks. New snowshoe trails laced throughout the 100+ acre property and folks are welcome to go off trail and explore our woods and the adjoining State land. Please note new rates and lodge/ski shop hours(WE ARE CLOSED ON TUES/THURS UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED UNDER "Trail Conditions") Thomas will be grooming trails daily and as weather conditions require.
This year we will have Rossignol and Alpina waxless classic or skate skis and various snow shoes to rent. Due to Covid related manufacturing and logistical challenges, our preseason ski orders were reduced. Therefore we will not have skis or boots for purchase until later in the season. In early March 2022 we will have an end of season sale on all used ski and snow shoe equipment. Our rental fleet is all this year's models and because we get so much fluffy lake effect snow we expect this gear to be gently used. Expect great deals. Snowshoes are more abundant and we have several models for sale throught the season. We also have plenty of poles. Visit our shop for glide wax, hand warmers, or a new hat.
Snackbar is prepackaged grab-and-go with hot and cold beverages.
We will have brand new trailside lodging available this year at the main ski lodge and the Red Camp directly across the street is still available. Mark and Nicole have polished up this sportsman's cabin with 1 twin and 2 full beds (plus 1 queen air mattress). See Lodging for details.
COVID PROTOCOL 2021-2022
We count ourselves fortunate that the nordic community is especially known for it's love of the outdoors and individual wellness. Last year we had no issues with respect for others and cooperation with Covid protocols--even as they seemed to change from week to week. Covid protocols are designed to keep everyone safe regardless of individual health and vaccination status.
Masks are required inside the main lodge at all times. On the trails, folks are asked to practice social distancing and wear masks/gaiters with discretion if they cannot maintain distance between pods/groups (with 28K trails, this is not typically a problem).
Beverages/snacks available for purchase at the ski center, but we are asking folks to eat outside (fire pit/picnic table/tailgating, etc.) You are also welcome to bring your own food and beverages.
Trailside lodging available on 2nd floor of the ski center, but this year due to covid we are renting the whole floor to one group/family (3 bedrooms + shared kitchen, bath, dining room) sliding rate depending on whether you require 1,2, or 3 rooms.
If you would like to avoid entering the building altogether, we can arrange purchase of tickets/rental equipment curbside.
Thank you in advance,
Hope you enjoy the beauty of Osceola and the Tug Hill Plateau this winter!
